Franciacorta is the first and only italian spumante produced exclusively with re-fermenting in bottle which obtained in 1995 the Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG), highest acknoledgement of wine quality.
The thing which identifies this wine is the name of the region where it is produced, well defined in its borders, where the grapes are cultivated and the producers have their farms.
